CV Builder by VergeOn is operated by VergeOn Media Group Pty Ltd, Johannesburg, South Africa. You can use the builder without an account, and then we do not keep your CV data. An account is optional.

Using the builder without an account

What you type, including any photo, is processed in your own browser and is not uploaded to us. Your PDF is created on your device. To avoid losing your work, the builder autosaves a copy in your browser's local storage on your device. On a shared or public computer, use Clear all my data in the builder (under Privacy) when you are done.

Optional account

If you create an account we store your email address, a securely hashed version of your password (we cannot read your password), and the CVs you choose to save, which may include your name, contact details, photo, work history and education. We use this only to provide the account and your saved CVs. We do not sell or share it. We keep it until you delete it.

Deleting your data: you can delete any CV, or your entire account with all its CVs, at any time from the account page. Deletion is permanent. You can also download a copy of your data there.

To keep your account secure we use a login cookie that is needed for you to stay signed in, and we limit repeated failed login attempts (using an anonymised code, not your address).

Job match

The job-advert matcher runs in your browser. The advert you paste is not sent to us.

Advertising

This site may show sponsored banners and Google ads to help keep the service free. Sponsored banners do not track you. Google ads use cookies and only load if you click Allow on our notice, and you can say No thanks. Ads never appear in your CV or PDF. Google's use of data is described in Google's own privacy policy.

Other information we handle

Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and to run the site. If you email us or use the contact form, we receive what you send and use it only to reply. The builder loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google may receive your IP address.

Your rights

We aim to handle personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You may ask us to access, correct or delete your information, or ask any privacy question, at info@cv.vergeon.co.za.

We will update this page if our features or practices change.
